Whilst waiting for visas, we moved around the different Airbnb's available in the Queenstown area. Our favourite area to stay in was Arthurs Point, just a short drive North from the centre of Queenstown. Situation in the gorge of the Shotover River, the surrounding landscape is incredibly picturesque and once again we were spoilt for choice when it came to window views.
The area is famous for the Shotover Jet experience through the gorge, and other adrenaline activities. It is also the closest area to reach the ski field, Coronet Peak. Walking the Moonlight Track, you follow the Shotover River north along the contours of Bowen Peak, with fantastic views down to the river and across to Mt Dewar. Since the terrain is steep and quite bare, you have unlimited panoramic views.
